So hey this is pretty much the Dave Elman induction, which is pretty well known among hypnotists as the most effective induction around in general. So it’s great for first timers. Technically it’s called a progressive relaxation induction. I would recommend looking up a script for it and memorizing it. I said it was “pretty much” an Elman induction because I deviated a bunch from the real script. MISTAKE!!! I totally should’ve lifted the arms before I did the number amnesia. I’ve never done that before to be honest and am I’m so sure why I did it this time. Oh well… NOTE: When you are goign to ask the subj. if the numbers are gone NEVER ask “are the NUMBERS gone?” saying the word numbers generally brings them right back after all that work. CAVEAT: Hypnosis can seem harmless. However, the danger of hypnosis (specifically recreational hypnosis) lies in not properly learning suggestion formation and the effects of hypnosis, being sloppy with suggestions (not knowing what to avoid doing), and not following strict ethics. Please do your homework before you go out parading around as a hypnotist.
